The Lesehof Stagård is an organic winery owned by Urban T. Stagård in Krems-Stein in the Krems Valley ("Krems Valley" in German), which boasts a winemaking tradition dating back over 1,000 years. This family-run winery combines this long history with a clear commitment to sustainable, quality-oriented viticulture. For generations, the unique vineyard sites of the Wachau and Krems Valley ("Kremstal" in German) have been tended here to produce characterful, authentic wines.

The portfolio focuses on Riesling and Grüne Veltliner, complemented by select other grape varieties. The vineyards are cultivated biodynamically and are situated on partly steep terraced slopes, characterized by sparse, ancient rock soils that lend the wines their typical minerality. Cultivation follows organic guidelines—no synthetic chemical pesticides or herbicides are used. Instead, the winery relies on manual labor, gentle soil cultivation, and the preservation of biodiversity.

Harvesting is done exclusively by hand to ensure that only the best, healthiest grapes are processed. In the cellar, traditional methods are combined with modern technology. Spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts, extended maceration, and gentle pressing are essential elements in giving the wines depth and character. Aging takes place primarily in large wooden barrels and stainless steel tanks to preserve the wine’s terroir characteristics.

The wines of Lesehof Stagård embody precision, terroir, and longevity—a reflection of the unique cultural landscape of the Wachau and Krems Valley ("Kremstal" in German) regions.
