Hiking tour Starting from Trandorf, Fire Station
Our short hike takes us mostly on paved paths and roads that are also suitable for baby carriages, partly on the "Ranna" mountain bike trail between meadows and fields and through a beech and spruce forest to the small, tranquil village of Povat. From there we return to Trandorf, passing wayside shrines and crossroads. Along the way, the views of Trandorf and Oberranna Castle are always surprising. Several benches invite you to linger. The hiking trail is uniformly and consistently signposted with yellow signs.

From the fire station in Trandorf (448 m), we walk down the small road (the “Ranna” mountain bike trail). Soon we cross the Josef Sekora Bridge and, at the next Y-intersection, turn straight ahead—or slightly to the right uphill—onto “Jauerlingweg,” which continues between meadows and fields. At the next intersection, we keep to the left. Shortly thereafter, the road turns into a dirt path, where, a short distance further on, a bench awaits us with a magnificent view of Trandorf and its church. After a short uphill stretch, we hike straight ahead uphill through a beech and spruce forest. Now the path levels out, and we’re treated to a beautiful view of Oberranna Castle and the church in Niederranna, as well as another bench that invites us to take a short break. Now the trail heads slightly uphill again, continuing straight ahead until we reach a junction with the mountain bike trail. There, we take the left path, which leads along a beautiful forest trail through a spruce forest, continuing straight ahead and slightly downhill.
Soon we come to a clearing where the path curves to the left and rejoins a paved road, which we follow to the right into the small village of Povat. At the drinking fountain with a bench, we turn left and, immediately afterward, turn left again in front of the village wayside shrine. After about 50 m, we leave Povat via a small, quiet paved road and follow it. At the next wayside shrine, we continue left along the road. To the right of the path is a cross and a bench. Now we walk through a small grove. At the next intersection, we stay on the small road, which continues downhill, where we can rest on a bench. In “Örtl,” we walk along the Spitzer Bach (“Sandweg”), cross a small bridge straight ahead, and continue following the stream. Then we walk straight ahead along “Ertlstraße” back to the fire station in Trandorf.
