Hiking tour Starting from Pömling, Bauer Inn, and Langthaler Inn
A hike through the meadows, orchards and fields around Pömling, panoramic views of the foothills of the Alps and the Ötscher, the idyllic Hubert Chapel and one of the best inns in the Wachau. The Hubertus circular trail and the idyllically situated farmer and inn Langthaler are an ideal combination for a memorable hiking excursion. The hiking trail is uniformly and consistently signposted with yellow signs.

The hike starts right in the center of town, in front of the Bauer und Wirt Langthaler inn in Pömling. After just a few meters, the trail leads out of town and into the countryside. Until we reach the “Eitental” fork in the trail, we hike parallel to the “Jauerling-Runde” long-distance hiking trail, which is marked with a yellow logo. After 20 minutes, we reach this intersection. The Jauerling-Runde turns left. We continue straight ahead and, after another ten minutes, reach a clearing with the Hubertus Chapel and a rest area.
Right by the chapel, we turn right and follow the dirt road. After a few minutes, we leave the forest and enter a vast expanse of meadows and fields. To our right, we have a fantastic view of the Alpine range from the Ötscher to the Schneeberg. At a large, old linden tree, we turn right toward the south. After a few hundred meters, we enter the forest and shortly thereafter reach the meadows around Pömling. Once we reach the country road, we turn right and, after a few minutes, arrive at the village of Pömling and our starting point, the Langthaler farm and inn.

Take the A1 to Melk, then the B3 to Emmesdorf; drive through the town center to Pömling—follow the signs.
It is very difficult to reach Pömling by public transportation.
At the end of September, the Emmersdorf Hunting Club holds its Hubertus Fair, featuring music, food, and drinks. www.gasthau-langthaler.at
At the Langthaler Inn, you can enjoy excellent regional cuisine and farm-fresh delicacies from their own farm, plenty of animals to discover and pet, a large adventure playground, and a self-service shop (“Jaus’n Kist’l”) featuring farm-fresh products (open 24/7).
