The country inn “Zur schönen Wienerin,” run by the Engel family, features eight stylishly furnished rooms that offer a quiet and personal atmosphere. All accommodations feature satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, a private bathroom, and often a seating area with a view of the Danube. Rooms for three to four people or with extra beds are available upon request. Located directly on the Danube cycle path, the inn is particularly popular with cyclists and hikers.
The cuisine is down-to-earth and deeply rooted in the region. The menu features, among other things, fresh fish from the Danube (char, carp), homemade cabbage rolls, rice with meat, and Viennese roast pork—always made with local ingredients, some sourced from the inn’s own farm or regional suppliers.
For cyclists, the inn offers an all-inclusive package: a lockable bike garage, a washing station, bike tools, a pump, a repair kit, and a bike stand. Upon request, e-bike rentals are available for guests, along with stretching exercises for athletes and a drying service for wet clothing—and active support is provided personally by host Gerhard Engel, a passionate cyclist.
Should a major repair ever be necessary, there is a specialty bike shop, a repair shop, and a bike rental service right in town.
The terrace and the lovingly designed outdoor dining area invite you to relax while enjoying a breathtaking view of the Danube. Here, you can savor traditional dishes as well as regional wines and beers from small breweries while taking in the scenery.
