    From Krems to Dürnstein, we hike through the historic districts of Krems and Stein - Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque ensembles - through wine cellar lanes and into the Krems Valley ("Kremstal" German) and Wachau stone terrace wine landscape, which also has its charm in winter. At the end of the stage, we reach the pearl of the Wachau: The medieval town of Dürnstein with its famous castle ruins.

    Description

    We start our tour at the Hoher Markt and the Gozzoburg in Krems. Passing the Piarist Church, we come to the Kreuzbergstiege and reach the Krems vineyards, where magnificent views await us time and again. Through the old town of Stein, we reach the Steiner wine landscape with its castle ruins. We follow old wine trails and enter the Wachau wine-growing region via the Pfaffenberg. Via the imposing Ried Loibenberg, we reach the Höhereck and Kellerberg nature reserves. Below the Dürnstein castle ruins, we immerse ourselves in a fascinating rock and forest landscape with old pines and oaks. Finally, we come to the Kuhberg with its panoramic views and in a few minutes we are at the Kremser Tor in Dürnstein.
