The Wachau56 is certainly the most challenging of the four routes of the Danube Valley Trail Wachau. At 56 km and +2546 m elevation gain, it is a thoroughbred ultra, varied and with many highlights along the route. hikers and trail runners are particularly challenged on the first 14 km with many meters of elevation gain, here it is important to save strength in order to bring the total distance home easily.
