Hiking tour Starting from Rossatzbach, parking lot at the ship station on the B33
The Rossatz panoramic trail takes you along a high-altitude path past vineyards, orchards and stone terraces. This panoramic trail is also very attractive in the cooler months of the year. Wonderful views of the free-flowing Danube, over Rossatz-Arnsdorf, the town of Dürnstein with its striking ruins and abbey, as well as Weißenkirchen invite you to enjoy the Wachau landscape. On the way back, you can hike through the Rührsdorfer Au and to the Danube.
Embraced by the Danube and surrounded by wine terraces and apricot gardens, the market town of Rossatz-Arnsdorf is located in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world - the UNESCO World Hertige site Wachau. Rossatz is the largest apricot community in Austria and the Wachau apricot growing region. During the apricot blossom in spring, Rossatz is transformed into a single blooming garden. The Romans settled in Rossatz-Arnsdorf and brought viticulture to the Danube. Unique ruins of Roman watchtowers and walls of the former Limes border wall are still preserved. Some of the stone terraces around Rossatz date back to the 12th century and the market has been able to preserve its medieval townscape - the historic winegrowing and harvesting farms of the monasteries bear witness to the tradition of winegrowing. The Rossatz wine taverns and farm-to-table establishments will fulfill your individual wine wishes and spoil you with culinary delights.
Dining options: wine taverns and inns in Rossatz-Arnsdorf.
