A moderately challenging cycle tour through the quiet and tranquil landscape of the Waldviertel, past idyllic villages on quiet forest and woodland paths.

Start in Rolandgasse in Weiten, turn off along the B216 to the sports field, through forest and woodland paths past the Mollendorf castle ruins to Mollendorf. Continue along the goods road to the Hubertus Chapel, then take the L7226 to Seiterndorf, following the L7223 towards Weiten. Turn off onto a country lane to the Spielerkreuz vantage point. Over field and forest paths to Lohsdorf, on forest paths over the Roman bridge to Aichau, continue on the L7231 to Eitental. Along the B216 to Fahnsdorf, on to Kuffarn and Filsendorf and on the L7136 to Zehentegg. The Drei Kirchen hiking trail leads to Heiligenblut, continuing on cycle paths along the L81 and B216 back to Rolandgasse.

- Use of the marked bike routes is only permitted during the contractually fixed periods: March, October from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; April, September from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; May through August from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Respectful interaction with landowners and hunting and forestry personnel!
- Consideration for other forest users!
- Ride at half sight with controlled speed!
- Be cautious of working machinery, wood or potholes on the road, grazing livestock, and motor vehicle traffic (forest roads are operational areas and workplaces)!
- Observe the traffic regulations!
- Consider cleanliness in nature!
- Equipment checks and wearing helmets!
- Cycling off the routes and outside the permitted times is illegal. Observe driving bans and closures!
- Use of the bike routes at your own risk!
Route description
Starting point Rolandgasse - B216 to sports field - forest and woodland paths to Mollendorf - farm road to Hubertus chapel - L7226 to Seiterndorf - L7223 towards Weiten - after intersection Mörenz turn right onto field path (viewpoint Spielerkreuz about 300m towards Weiten) - field and forest path to Lohsdorf - forest road over Roman bridge to Aichau - L7231 to Eitental - bike path along B216 to intersection Fahnsdorf - then to Kuffarn - Filsendorf - Nonnersdorf - L7136 to Zehentegg - Three Churches hiking trail to Heiligenblut - bike path along L81 to Am Schuß - bike path along B216 to Weiten Rolandgasse.

There are ample parking spaces available on Rolandgasse in Weiten.
Getting there
Drive along the Austrian Romantic Road B3 to Weitenegg, then turn into the Weiten valley and follow the B216.
Public transport
