Hiking tour Starting from
Stage 4 of the Apricot Mile takes us through picturesque wine-growing villages and enchanting apricot gardens, always with the Danube in view. We discover an old Roman path and fantastic rock formations in the middle of the forest.
Austria's largest apricot-growing community, the municipality of Rossatz-Arnsdorf, lies on the southern bank of the Danube in the heart of the Wachau. It is not only wine that characterizes this landscape. After centuries of cultivation, the Wachau apricot is a popular crop. The apricot farmers try to bring the topic closer to hikers with the apricot mile, which is divided into a western (St. Johann-Bacharnsdorf) and an eastern part (Rührsdorf-Rossatzbach).
