Hiking tour Starting from Municipal office Furth near Göttweig
Whether idyllic Krems Valley ("Kremstal" in German), baroque churches in a dreamlike mountain setting or majestic redwood trees - the Furth - Paudorf stage promises pure enjoyment of nature!
The Furth - Paudorf stage offers a little bit of everything: nature, history, amazement. The very first section of the hike presents itself with impressive panoramic views over the Danube and the Krems Valley ("Kremstal" in German). The UNESCO World Hertige site of Göttweig Abbey also impresses along the way. With its baroque architectural style and special location on the Göttweiger Berg, the monastery creates a special ambience that speaks for itself. For another historical facet, a short detour to the highest point of the mountain is also worthwhile. This is where the foundations of the church of St. George, built in the tenth century, lie. The rest of the tour leads to Klein-Wien, past the St. Blasien branch church with its picturesque mountain cemetery. The stage then reaches its final destination of Paudorf. Another nature experience awaits at the end of the hike: the forest nature trail with its imposing redwood trees, which are unique in Austria due to their size.
