Description

The stage from Gedersdorf to Langenlois is worthwhile for nature lovers who enjoy walking as well as for experienced wine connoisseurs. From Gedersdorf, the route leads up to the terrace of Gobelsberg, where a breathtaking view awaits. From the Tullner basin over the Danube valley to far into the foothills of the Alps, the entire panorama can be seen. The stage then continues over Gobelsburg to its destination in Langenlois, Austria’s largest wine town. The town is exactly the right place if you want to pursue the topic of wine not only visually but also thematically. For example, the LOISIUM Wine Experience World conveys interesting knowledge about viticulture and wine production; the Ursin Haus combines Kamptal regional wine tavern and tourist information. In addition, wine lovers in Langenlois can always find an open cellar door – the ideal opportunity to end the successful hike in a relaxed way.

Route description Those who choose Langenlois as the destination on the hiking route walk straight ahead at the wine press in Gedersdorf, then uphill to Gobelsberg with its observation tower. In clear weather, there is a magnificent view and a splendid panoramic view from the Tullner basin over the Danube valley to the foothills of the Alps. In good visibility, you can even count 37 church steeples. On the north side, the path gently slopes downhill past the Burger and Ulmer crosses to Gobelsburg.Before the Reithmaier winery, we turn left, cross the stream, then right and immediately left up into the vineyards. Through the Ried Spiegel, past the wrought-iron cross, we reach Langenlois. Via Auböck-Allee and Michael Zwickel-Zeile, we arrive in the center of Austria's largest wine town, a town worth seeing not only because of the wine but also because of the culture and architecture.
