Klein-Pöchlarn 3 - Ziegelbachgrabenweg

Please note the following tips and guidelines:
· Stay on the marked trails.
· Wear hiking boots.
· Use hiking poles.
· Rain gear is always advisable.
· Bring a hiking map with you.
· Carry enough drinking water with you.
· Please do not leave your trash behind on the trail.
· Respect the sensitive habitats of flora and fauna.

You undertake the suggested hikes at your own risk and on your own responsibility.

We recommend hiking boots, a backpack, a hiking map and/or a mobile route planner, weatherproof clothing (e.g., rain gear), a hat, sunscreen, a first-aid kit, possibly a flashlight, and enough food and drink to keep your energy up (water, snacks).

The Ziegelbachgrabenweg trail starts off on asphalt and is very flat. At km 1.10, you cross a railroad crossing and enter a path through a cool, dense forest. The trail follows the Ziegelbachgraben upstream, crossing the Ziegelbach several times via bridges. Once you reach the top at the 3.20 km mark, you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Danube Valley. The trail then heads back downhill on asphalt and returns to the starting point.

Parking is available in the town of Klein-Pöchlarn.

Klein-Pöchlarn is accessible via the A1 Westautobahn; take the Pöchlarn exit. At the exit, take the first exit at the roundabout, then turn left after about 1 km and cross the Danube Bridge. Keep left; Wachaustraße (B3) leads directly into the town of Klein-Pöchlarn.

Coming from Krems or Grein, take Wachauerstraße (B3) to Klein-Pöchlarn. The road leads directly into the town of Klein-Pöchlarn.

Take the ÖBB train to the Pöchlarn station. From the station, take the bus to Klein-Pöchlarn. You can find the schedule at www.oebb.at
