Klein-Pöchlarn 2 - Höhenweg

Please note the following tips and guidelines:
· Stay on the marked trails.
· Wear hiking boots.
· Use hiking poles.
· Rain gear is always advisable.
· Bring a hiking map with you.
· Carry enough drinking water with you.
· Please do not leave your trash behind on the trail.
· Respect the sensitive habitats of flora and fauna.

You undertake the suggested hikes at your own risk and on your own responsibility.

We recommend hiking boots, a backpack, a hiking map and/or a mobile route planner, weatherproof clothing (e.g., rain gear), a hat, sunscreen, a first-aid kit, possibly a flashlight, and enough food and drink to keep your energy up (water, snacks).

The Green High Trail begins with a 1.20 km uphill stretch on solid ground. Between km 1.20 and 3.00, you can discover very rare animal and plant species and enjoy the view of the Danube Valley and Pöchlarn. The return to the starting point follows a route over gravel and asphalt.

Parking is available in the town of Klein-Pöchlarn.

Klein-Pöchlarn is accessible via the A1 Westautobahn; take the Pöchlarn exit. At the exit, take the first exit at the roundabout, then turn left after about 1 km and cross the Danube Bridge. Keep left; Wachaustraße (B3) leads directly into the town of Klein-Pöchlarn.

Coming from Krems or Grein, take Wachauerstraße (B3) to Klein-Pöchlarn. The road leads directly into the town of Klein-Pöchlarn.

Take the ÖBB to the Pöchlarn train station— check the schedule. From the station, take the bus to Klein-Pöchlarn— check the bus schedule.
