Hiking tour Starting from Klein-Pöchlarn, Market Square
The blue Ebenweg initially leads a few meters uphill past a church and on to the chapel. Approx. 700m along a gravel road, with a beautiful view of Melk Abbey and the Danube power station for the first 400m. The route then descends again on asphalt to the starting point.

Please note the following tips and guidelines:
· Stay on the marked trails.
· Wear hiking boots.
· Use hiking poles.
· Rain gear is always advisable.
· Bring a hiking map with you.
· Carry enough drinking water with you.
· Please do not leave your trash behind on the trail.
· Respect the sensitive habitats of flora and fauna.
You undertake the suggested hikes at your own risk and on your own responsibility.
We recommend hiking boots, a backpack, a hiking map and/or a mobile route planner, weatherproof clothing (e.g., rain gear), a hat, sunscreen, a first-aid kit, possibly a flashlight, and enough food and drink to keep your energy up (water, snacks).
The blue Ebenweg trail starts by climbing a few meters in elevation, passing a church and continuing on to the chapel. It follows a gravel road for about 700 meters; for the first 400 meters, you’ll enjoy a beautiful view of Melk Abbey and the Danube power plant. The trail then heads back downhill on asphalt to the starting point.
Parking is available in the town of Klein-Pöchlarn.
Klein-Pöchlarn is accessible via the A1 Westautobahn; take the Pöchlarn exit. At the exit, take the first exit at the roundabout, then turn left after about 1 km and cross the Danube Bridge. Keep left; Wachaustraße (B3) leads directly into the town of Klein-Pöchlarn.
Coming from Krems or Grein, take Wachauerstraße (B3) to Klein-Pöchlarn. The road leads directly into the town of Klein-Pöchlarn.
Take the ÖBB to the Pöchlarn train station— check the schedule. From the station, take the bus to Klein-Pöchlarn— check the bus schedule.
