The WSC Spitz boat dock on the Danube is located on the left bank of the river. Due to commercial shipping traffic, there is usually a slight swell. Bicycles are available for rent for shopping trips, and large green spaces with plenty of seating invite you to linger. A supermarket is about 600 m away, a doctor’s office about 800 m, and a pharmacy is in town. Bus and train stops are within a kilometer.

Spitz was originally built around the 1000-Eimerberg, whose grapes are still used to produce excellent wines today. But the surrounding vineyards and the Spitzer Graben also promise the highest quality wine enjoyment every year. Taste these fine wines from the Spitz vineyards at the numerous wine taverns or one of the inns and restaurants, and enjoy them with typical Wachau delicacies. Visit the historic town center with its beautiful church and Spitz Castle, climb the steps to the keep of the ruins, and enjoy the view from the Red Gate of the surrounding vineyards and the town. A visit to the Maritime Museum at Erlahof Castle is a hidden gem, not just on rainy days.
