The Spitz 15 boat landing is located on the left bank of the Danube. Just across the river, a short walk away after crossing the B3 Danube River Road, you’ll find the Spitz Tourist Information Office, as well as restaurants and lodging options.
Spitz was originally built around the 1000-Eimerberg, whose grapes are still used to produce excellent wines today. But the surrounding vineyards and the Spitzer Graben also promise the finest wine enjoyment every year. Taste these fine wines from the Spitz vineyards at the numerous wine taverns or one of the inns and restaurants, and enjoy them with typical Wachau delicacies. Visit the historic town center with its beautiful church and Spitz Castle, climb the steps to the keep of the ruins, and enjoy the view from the Red Gate of the surrounding vineyards and the town. A visit to the Maritime Museum at Erlahof Castle is a hidden gem, not just on rainy days.
