Open year-round

The Krems 39 boat landing is located directly in front of Stein’s historic old town. The shortest route for passengers to the nearest public road is via the B3 underpass (near Danube Station No. 33). There, buses can pull over briefly to let passengers on and off; they may stop at the public bus stop in accordance with the schedule or in the second lane at the Steiner Donaulände. The distance to the large ferry terminal parking lot at the shipping center is approximately 550 m.

The statutory city of Krems on the Danube looks back on over 1,000 years of history—and, as an educational and cultural center, also shapes the modern era. The beautiful old town of Krems is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wachau Cultural Landscape: with picturesque alleys, a cobblestone pedestrian zone, and architectural landmarks such as the Steiner Gate—the only surviving city gate and, at the same time, the symbol of Krems.

In addition to a high-quality educational landscape comprising several major colleges and universities, Krems offers, above all, a rich array of art and culture: The Landesgalerie Niederösterreich is the center of the Kunstmeile Krems, which stretches from the Minorite Church on Minorite Square in Krems-Stein, past the Museum Square, to the historic Dominican Church, featuring its exhibition venues Forum Frohner, Kunsthalle Krems, and the Caricature Museum, as well as the Klangraum Krems Minoritenkirche, stretches from Minoritenplatz in Krems-Stein across Museumsplatz to the historic Dominican Church and is also just a few minutes’ walk from the Danube promenade.
