The Maria Hick Winery, nestled among picturesque vineyards, offers a breathtaking view of the Danube and the Hinterhaus castle ruins.

The Danube flows just a five-minute walk away, and the car ferry takes you to Spitz in 15 minutes, where shopping options are available. This traditional winery offers wine tastings in its on-site Buschenschank (typical tavern) upon request. The wines, juices, fine brandies, rosé, frizzante, and liqueurs have received multiple awards from A La Carte and Vinaria. The vineyards are managed according to sustainable and organic guidelines, which underscore the quality and unique flavor of the products.

Several times a year—at specific tasting times (dates listed on the website or in the wine tavern calendar)—the wine tavern is open, serving homemade specialties such as delicious spreads, Käferbohnensalat, smoked ham and smoked pork, as well as organic beef ham and game meat from our own smokehouse, game sausage, and game pâté. Sheep and goat cheese from the Waldviertel, spicy pork roasts, sour roast, and caraway roast, as well as homemade blood sausage and Saumaisen, round out the diverse selection.

In the garden in front of the house, you can enjoy a fantastic view of Spitz, the Singerriedel vineyard, the Tausendeimerberg, and the surrounding vineyards and orchards. On rainy summer days or very hot days, the rain-protected, shaded arbor on the mountainside is a wonderful spot to relax.

There’s a children’s play area for our younger guests!
