Description

The Mammuthütte in Ruppersthal, nestled between picturesque vineyards, is a 70-year-old, lovingly renovated vineyard hut. It owes its unique name to a remarkable find from the 1970s: Some 22,000-year-old mammoth bones were discovered in the immediate vicinity, which can now be admired in the Natural History Museum in Vienna.

But it is not only this fascinating history that makes the area around the Mammuthütte so special. The breathtaking beauty and views in Mordthal, the remoteness, the untouched nature and the tranquillity convey the feeling that time has stood still here for centuries. A spot at the Mammuthütte with a view over the Mordthal is the ideal place for a short break and offers an unforgettable experience for every visitor.
