The Ahrenberg Wine Cellar Lane, together with the Eichberg Wine Cellar Lane, is a closed lane lined with cellars on one side, featuring approximately 130 cellars. At least one wine tavern is open year-round. The longest Heuriger alley in Lower Austria is located directly along the Venusberg Tour and the Traisental-Danube Bike Route.
As early as the 1930s, cozy winemakers’ wine taverns were held in the Ahrenberg-Eichberg wine cellar lane. Since 1975, the wine tavern has been open year-round, with three families taking turns running it. During the warmer months, the entire wine cellar lane is closed to cars to allow for safe and undisturbed strolling. Younger guests can let off steam at the lovingly designed playground. Every summer, there’s a big celebration as part of the farmers' market and Hauerkirtag.
Wine Educational Trail and Hike to the Eichberg Corkscrew
Below the old tree press in the wine cellar lane on the Eichberg, a hiking trail and a 350-meter-long wine educational trail begin.
The themed trail uses nine barrel bottoms to tell the story of the region’s wine history and culture. The approximately 2.5-kilometer-long Hauersteig hiking trail leads to the Eichberg observation tower on the Fuchsberg. The 15-meter-high tower, shaped like a corkscrew, offers spectacular views stretching from Krems to the Tullner Feld.

Public transportation by train & bus:
The trip on the S40 from Vienna’s Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof takes about 1.5 hours; from Vienna Hauptbahnhof via Tullnerfeld station on the S40 takes about 40 minutes; and from St. Pölten, it takes about 30–40 minutes.
