The 1st DDSG (= Erste Donaudampfschifffahrtsgesellschaft) had a long tradition on the Danube extending back to 1829. THE NEW MS WACHAU The proud DDSG vessel MS Wachau is considered a classic among the Austrian excursion ships and has a distinctive, finely balanced shape. WACHAU SPECIALS From late March to early November, the red-white DDSG fleet operates up to three times daily in each direction for relaxed cruises through the Wachau, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. A cruise through the Wachau is magnificent any time of year, be it in the springtime with the apricot and other fruit trees in full bloom or summertime with azure skies or autumn when the vineyards shimmer in the afternoon sun in hues of red and gold. The full-service schedule offers so many possibilities for experiencing this stretch of the Danube between Krems, Dürnstein, Spitz, Emmersdorf and Melk from aboard a ship.
SPECIALS IN THE TULLN DANUBE REGION Every Sunday from July through September, the MS Admiral Tegetthoff operates from Vienna into the Wachau. Enjoy the ride and the wonderful views of the surrounding villages, meadows and forests. During a two-hour stopover, you can stroll through Dürnstein and explore this picturesque town.
