The Waldgasthaus Steinbründl is nestled in a quiet and wooded area near Wallenbach in the municipality of Krummnußbaum. It is located directly next to the Maria Steinbründl chapel, which, together with the spring, is a traditional place of peace and contemplation.
The spring, the so-called "Maria Steinbründl", rises under the statue of the Virgin Mary in a semi-circular stone basin and flows into a mossy drain via a simple iron pipe. Its water contains magnesium and is so abundant that it can also be bottled for visitors and inns. According to tradition, the spring water has healing properties, especially for eye complaints and melancholic ailments.
Regional specialties are served at the Steinbründl inn - the famous fried chicken and seasonal dishes are particularly noteworthy. Vegetarian options are also available. The portions are generous and the quality of the ingredients is high. Many visitors appreciate the combination of good food, idyllic location and unobtrusive hospitality.
In addition to the interior, the restaurant also has a charming garden from which you can enjoy wonderful views of the forest. Hiking trails ("Tut-Gut" trails) lead directly from the house and the spring through the surrounding nature and make Steinbründl a popular destination for walks and excursions.
