Everything is just right at the Gasthof zum goldenen Anker. The historic country inn in Hainburg is located directly on the blue Danube and boasts one of the most beautiful terraces in Lower Austria. A marvellous view that is only outshone by the sophisticatedly prepared inn cuisine. Landlady Michaela Gansterer-Zaminer and her team have been offering culinary delights since 1992. The organic beef comes from their own farm. The result is the speciality of the house: boiled young beef with potato pancakes and apple horseradish. From the ‘river and lake’ category, the roasted carp from Gut Dornau is an impressive speciality. Bite by bite, the inn's credo becomes reality: ‘Quality and standard are not a question of money, but of attitude.’

This attitude to life is the key to success. The Gasthof zum goldenen Anker's high quality standards are complemented by the typical values of Lower Austrian inn culture: hospitality and sustainable work. The inn itself is multifaceted. The dining room with its medieval vaulted ceiling offers cosy niches and places for lunch or dinner. The offer is complemented by the Laf-Wurm-Stüberl, the Kristallstube and the romantic inner courtyard. Fine wines and lots of history can be found in the hotel's own vinotheque. The most popular excursion destinations in the area include the Braunsberg, Hexenberg or Hundsheimer Kogel. Or even better: a cycle tour along the Danube cycle path.
