In the middle of the sun-drenched vineyards of the Weinzierlberg lies the charming family business Weinbau & Heuriger Stoiber - a small but fine centerpiece of the Krems wine landscape.
Philosophy & viticulture
The Stoiber family has been cultivating its vineyards with great passion since 1958 - many of them in old top locations such as the Sandgrube or the Wachtberg. The focus is on classic Krems Valley ("Kremstal" in German) grape varieties such as Grüne Veltliner, Riesling, but also Muskateller and Sauvignon Blanc as well as aromatic red wines. The soils, partly loess and partly influenced by primary rock, give the wines depth, minerality and clarity. Sustainability, regionality and care in the vineyard and cellar are core values of the estate.
In the cellar, work is carried out with respect for the character of the grape variety: Each batch should develop its individuality, if possible without excessive intervention.
Wine tavern & culinary delights
When the wine tavern is "ausg'steckt", Stoiber is transformed into a cozy meeting place in the middle of the vineyards. The modern but cozy wine tavern invites you to linger - indoors or on the terrace with a view over the vines.
The delicacies on offer include traditional Heurigen classics as well as seasonal highlights such as organic sheep's cheese with pesto, pumpkin variations, asparagus salad or roast carpaccio. Regional meat specialties, such as home-cured pasture-raised pork, also find their place.
Those who prefer to enjoy their food at home can purchase wines and juices directly from the farm - almost daily (with advance reservation by telephone).
