Kirchberg am Wagram is a traditional market town in the district of Tulln in Lower Austria, known for its important wine-growing tradition, scenic diversity and cultural events.

The municipality is located on the southern edge of the Wagram, a striking loess plain between the Tullnerfeld and the Danube Valley, around 50 km northwest of Vienna. Kirchberg covers an area of around 33 km² and lies at around 260 m above sea level. The municipal area includes several cadastral communities, including Engelmannsbrunn, Mitterstockstall, Oberstockstall, Unterstockstall and Kollersdorf.

The region is characterized by fertile loess soils and intensive viticulture. The Wagram is one of the best-known wine-growing regions in Austria - especially for Grüner Veltliner, but also for Burgundy varieties and regional specialties. Numerous family-run wineries and traditional cellar lanes characterize the landscape.

Kirchberg am Wagram was already mentioned in documents in the Middle Ages and has had market rights since 1742. Over the course of time, the village developed into a center of viticulture and rural culture.

Worth seeing is the baroque parish church of St. Stephan, which is visible from afar on a hill and gave the village its name. The nearby castle in Oberstockstall and art objects in public spaces are evidence of cultural commitment and historical depth.

In addition to wine, tourism is also playing an increasingly important role. Marked hiking and cycling trails, vantage points and nature trails offer a wide range of leisure activities. Events such as “Kultur bei Winzerinnen & Winzern” or the Wagramer Weinfrühlingstage attract many visitors every year.

Kirchberg am Wagram is conveniently located on the S5 Stockerau expressway and can be reached in just a few minutes from Tulln or Krems. Its proximity to the Danube, the Wachau region and the provincial capital of St. Pölten makes the municipality a popular place to live and visit with a high quality of life.
