  • Interior view of Jäger winery and wine tavern

The Jäger winery has been in the family for generations. The "Jägerhaus" with its classicist façade dates back to 1838 and is a listed building. The lovingly cultivated and sustainably maintained vineyards are situated in the best locations around Weißenkirchen. Each vineyard is individually cultivated according to variety, location and soil. Gentle processing preserves the natural aromas of the single-varietal grapes. Exclusive hand-picking and late harvesting guarantee very juicy, fruity, ripe wines from the top vineyards Klaus, Achleiten, Vorderseiber and Steinriegl. The wines are vinified in the Steinfeder®, Federspiel® and Smaragd® quality levels. This results in wines that are typical of the vintage and reflect the varietal character, full of delicacy, bouquet density and fruity elegance. Roman Jäger's wines are exemplary for a fruit precision and liveliness that is hard to find again in its consistency and clarity. The grapes are vinified in a cool barrel vault in stainless steel tanks. All the aromas and typicity are extracted from the grapes in order to authentically express the specific terroir notes of the individual vineyards. Once a year (3rd week in April), a wine tavern is held, which impresses with a variety of selected delicacies (Falstaff Heurigen Guide 2015: 1st place in the "Classic" category).
