Panoramic view over Spitz and the Danube.

The 314 m high rocky cone is the striking landmark of the historic market town of Spitz, whose oldest houses completely surround it. The mountain received its peculiar name a long time ago, when it is said to have yielded up to one thousand buckets of wine in good years. The conversion of the old hollow measure "bucket" results in a quantity of approx. 56,000 liters!

Today, excellent wines grow on the 1000-Eimerberg, on some of the steepest stone terraces in the entire Wachau. Riesling and Neuburger in particular find excellent conditions on the crystalline weathered soils, which are reflected in slender, racy wines.
