Robert Payr is a winemaker and president of the Rubin Carnuntum wineries with visions that can also be seen in his wines. After all, you can't always recognize the entirety of a wine at first taste. There is more to it than just a brief pleasure. The Zweigelt variety is certainly the most important on the estate, but there is something new at the Payr winery when it comes to single-vineyard wines: Steinacker Reserve Carnuntum Zweigelt, perfection shaped by the soil, Spitzerberg Reserve Carnuntum, a Blaufränkisch, and the Bühl Reserve Carnuntum (cuvée of ZW-BLF-ME), which are among the highest rated red wines in Austria. Art has taken on an important role in the new tasting room. Here, the complexity of the winery is conveyed to the customer through a mixture of gallery and sales room.
