In 1896, great-grandfather Pius Rest bought the "Handlung" in Höflein on the main street.

The 2nd generation, Josef Rest and his wife Aloisia, skillfully steered the bakery and general store through the turmoil of war.

From 1970, their son Josef and his wife Helga modernized the business to the size it is today. On the occasion of the Klosterneuburg Novelty Show in 1980, Josef invented the famous "Klosterneuburger Weinweckerl", for which he was officially thanked and highly praised.

Since 1995, the bakery has been run in the 4th generation by Mrs. Helga Schuecker (née Rest) together with her husband Josef Schuecker. In addition to the bakery in Höflein, the company also runs convenience stores at the Strombad Kritzendorf and, since 2011, at the Klosterneuburg lido.
