The municipality of Scharndorf in the district of Bruck an der Leitha is part of the industrial district of Lower Austria. Situated on the edge of the Arbesthaler Hügelland, the municipality also includes the villages of Regelsbrunn and Wildungsmauer.
Scharndorf is a lovely vacation destination for those seeking relaxation or a vacation with the whole family: with several historical sights, beautiful hiking trails and family-friendly restaurants.

The churches of Scharndorf are well worth seeing
The baroque Regelsbrunn parish church is a real eye-catcher - with its high, block-like form: it was built in the late 17th century. The Romanesque hall church of St. Nikolaus in Wildungsmauer is also well worth a visit: the imposing sacred building dates back to around 1200 and the foundations of a Roman fort lie beneath its walls. Another exciting sight is the fortified and parish church of St. Margaretha directly in Scharndorf: it was built around the early 14th century. Its Gothic west tower, crowned with battlements, is a truly special feature.

Leisure time in Scharndorf: hikes for young and old
Neither adults nor children will be bored on a short break or day trip in Scharndorf: from here, you can set off on the most beautiful hikes in the Donau-Auen National Park or in the Ellender Forest. Several inns and accommodations provide food, drink and cozy overnight stays.
