Slow down and take a break in Tulln!
Nibelungenplatz is a new climate-fit public garden space directly on the Danube cycle path and at the same time right in the heart of the garden city of Tulln. With its inviting design, plenty of seating and restaurants, it is the ideal place to treat yourself to a relaxing break - whether you are visiting the city center or on an excursion by bike.
With the Nibelungenplatz, the garden city offers its guests another good reason to visit Tulln: In just one year of construction, Nibelungenplatz, which was used purely as a parking lot, has been transformed into a climate-fit public space that creates room for everyone: Shaded zones for strolling and lingering, a place of togetherness for games, sport and enjoyment, an ideal resting place for cyclists, an ecological green space as a fantastic backdrop for weddings - and still parking spaces, but now in a climate-friendly, seepage-open form.
The Nibelungenplatz is a place to take a deep breath and another piece of the puzzle for Tulln's popularity with cyclists and day-trippers: the northern part of the square, the "monastery garden", is a veritable firework of flowers made from ecologically valuable perennials and a blossoming backdrop for souvenir photos. Resting in the shade of the trees recharges your batteries - as well as your smartphone thanks to the USB ports integrated into the seating and wooden decks. Lockable charging stations are available for e-bikes. A fog play and a drinking fountain provide cooling, while an outdoor bar provides drinks, snacks and a public toilet.
During the warm season, the Nibelungenplatz shows the qualities it offers for citizens and guests thanks to its well thought-out design: It becomes a stage, a play area, a place for exercise and, above all, a place where people meet, chat and spend time together.
XXL games zone: At the outdoor bar, you can borrow free Gummitwist, Spikeball and XXL versions of Mikado, Mensch-ärgere-dich-nicht and chess to play on the newly designed square!
