The highly talented composer Ignaz Joseph Pleyel was born in Ruppersthal in 1757 as the son of a village schoolmaster. The Pleyel Museum is the only memorial in the world dedicated to the life and work of the composer Ignaz Joseph Pleyel. Among other things, the museum exhibits selected and original instruments of the owner of a world-famous piano manufactory and founder of the Salle Pleyel in Paris.

Guided tour of the Pleyel Museum: Mon to Sat 8am to 2pm, Sat additionally from 2pm to 6pm; Sun from 11am to 3pm (on concert-free Sundays) and by prior arrangement for groups for birthday parties, weddings and seminars!
Open-air concerts, concerts in the Benton Hall and matinees are also offered all year round.
