Austria's largest apricot-growing community, the municipality of Rossatz-Arnsdorf, lies on the southern bank of the Danube in the heart of the Wachau. It is not only wine that characterizes this landscape. After centuries of cultivation, the Wachau apricot is a popular crop. With the apricot mile, the apricot growers try to bring the topic closer to hikers.It is divided into a western part (St. Johann-Bacharnsdorf) and an eastern part (Rührsdorf-Rossatzbach). The so-called Salettl in Oberarnsdorf is the starting point of the circular walk.
The loop trail starts in Oberarnsdorf at the so-called Salettl. From there, the trail first runs along the federal highway. After passing the Hick Winery, turn right toward Glauberkreuz. The trail winds through apricot orchards toward the Danube to the roll-on ferry landing. Once there, walk along the Danube back to the starting point.

Take the A1 Westautobahn to Melk, take the Wachau exit, stay on the right bank of the Danube, and continue toward Mautern.
Take the S 33 from St. Pölten via Mautern, then take the B 33 or S 5 to Krems—right bank of the Danube at Mautern—B 33.
