Keep your eyes open and discover the secrets and culinary delights of the region! The small differences in altitude make the tour ideal for adventurous people of all ages, especially families.
This route leisurely follows the river for about 60 km starting in Ybbs. Over the bridge of the Ybbs-Persenbeug visitor power plant it goes to Persenbeug, past the Bikearena village renewal Persenbeug-Gottsdorf. Test your skills! In Marbach and Klein-Pöchlarn, the gastronomy businesses of the Nibelung region invite you to stop for refreshment.
The bathing paradise in Weitenegg invites you for a swim stop in summer, before the route continues and crosses the Danube bridge to Melk. When passing through Melk’s pedestrian zone, you can admire the historic old town.
Along the southern Danube bank, return towards Ybbs, passing through the Nibelung town of Pöchlarn. There, the Nibelung monument tells the history of the region. Then it continues past Krummnußbaum, accompanied by impressive views of the opposite Danube side with Marbach and Maria Taferl, and back to Ybbs. In Ybbs, the Danube Lodge or the Maximahl await you for nourishment and recovery after the physical effort.
And if you still have time: the bicycle museum in Ybbs tells “crazy stories”.
