Hiking tour Starting from Oberbergern 87 (Oberbergern Chapel)
Trail markers: red – yellow – blue
Walk along the Rudi Meixner Promenade toward the brick kiln. Cover the next 200 meters along the state road toward Rossatz, then turn left and walk west along the south bank of the stream in the Seeleitengraben, past the remains of the former labor camp. After turning onto the north bank, the route heads back past the Großer Bolzenberg and Kleiner Bolzenberg. The hike can be shortened by crossing the stream early on (red-white-red markings of trail 653). Take the path near the dog training school to return to the starting point.
There are parking options in the town itself that serve as a good starting point for hikes.
Oberbergern is easy to reach by car: Coming from Krems or Mautern, first take the B33 (Aggsteiner Straße) to Mautern. There, turn onto the state road toward Bergern im Dunkelsteinerwald and follow the signs via Mauternbach to Oberbergern.
From Krems, bus line 489 goes directly to the starting point at the "Oberbergern b.Krems Ortsmitte" stop.
