The Mantlerhof has been run by the family since around 1800. The Mantlerhof winery is located east of Krems an der Donau in a cozy little village. The village is mentioned in documents as early as 1114. At that time it was a Kuenringer seat (an important knightly family in the Wachau). In addition to the Kuenringers, the cathedral bailiffs of Regensburg also had estates in Brunn. The vineyard was already mentioned in the 12th century as a "Lesehof" (Admont Abbey). Viticulture also played an important role in the area during this period. The Mantler family is mentioned in a document from around 1365. Simon "Mentler" and his wife Elsbet bought a vineyard near Krems in 1365. The Mantlerhof is located in the center of the village right next to the village pond, which is surrounded by mighty trees. We practise organic farming and organic viticulture.
