Uniquely located, the town of Marbach lies in the Nibelungengau, shaped by the Danube river, at the western gateway to the Wachau. A picturesque holiday destination on Wachau Road and the Danube bank railway, between forest and Mostviertel, one hour by car from Vienna, Marbach is the ideal starting point for many excursions. A variety of well-known cultural rarities invite you to explore our region. Marbach's water sports club offers opportunities for water skiing, wakeboarding, and sports and sailing boat rides. Cycle paths on both sides of the Danube and in side valleys invite you to explore many attractions and cultural monuments by bike.

Further information about the municipality can be found at http://www.marbach-donau.at.

    Roadbook

The KIA Round "Danube View Round" leads downhill along the Danube for the first 500 m. After a slight uphill section, there is a nice view of Maria Taferl. From there, it continues on a low-traffic country road and through the center of Marbach back to the starting point.
