About 16 km long, we hike from Spitz to Aggsbach Markt, discovering highlights such as the wine-growing village of Spitz, the Hinterhaus castle ruins, the famous Devil's Wall, the Gothic-medieval village of Schwallenbach, and encounter the Venus of Willendorf. Jauerling Circuit: From Spitz to Aggsbach
From Spitz, our hike passes Schloss Spitz towards Quitten and Radlbach. We reach the Hinterhaus castle ruins and cross the legendary Devil's Wall, arriving at the medieval ensemble of Schwallenbach. The next goal is the site of the most famous woman of the Wachau - the Venus of Willendorf. Via an old high path, we reach the "mountain village" Köfering. The route continues through idyllic forest paths. After passing the old Schleinkhof estate, we descend to our stage destination Aggsbach Markt.
The Venusium Museum (stamp station) in Willendorf is worth a visit; there are many other interesting themed and circular hiking trails in the Jauerling Nature Park.
