We take off for you all year round. Every season has its charm. A balloon flight takes about one hour.

Balloon flights take place all year round in suitable weather conditions. This means: dry roads/fields, temperatures between -10 and +30 degrees, forecast for ground wind below 10 km/h, no low clouds/fog and no possible rain/thunderstorms during the entire duration of the flight.

Every season shows an interesting side to the landscape. From October to March, the few sunny, windless days in the Danube region often have to be used at very short notice (as it is unfortunately often foggy or hazy or very damp/muddy in our area or the wind is too strong for a safe take-off and landing). There are far more chances of suitable "balloon" weather in the Danube region or the Weinviertel and Waldviertel in the period from April to September.

A balloon flight at midday/during the day is only possible in the months of November to March, when the ground is so cold/the sun is not yet strong enough for thermals to develop. A thermal is an updraft that creates a downdraft in other places - and we must avoid this at all costs in the interests of the safety of passengers, pilots and local residents. For this reason, balloons take off in the period from April to October up to approx. one hour after sunrise and 2-3 hours before sunset, as no thermals are to be expected here. An early morning launch is usually calmer and more likely, as the wind usually only picks up during the course of the day (e.g. due to thermals). If you plan to launch in the evening, the wind may weaken too late (or the thermals may weaken), preventing a safe launch in good time. If the daytime temperature exceeds 30 degrees, evening launches are not possible as the balloon's lifting capacity and reaction are extremely limited due to the high temperatures.

Typical times to meet for a balloon flight or when it is possible to take off (after which a 1-hour flight with a one-hour reserve is possible) are therefore

• November, December, January, February: 08:00 to 13:00
• March: 07:00-15:00
• April-May: 06:00-07:00 and 15:00-17:00
• June-August: 05:30-06:30 and 17:30-19:00
• September: 06:00-07:00 and 15:00-17:00
• October: 07:30-08:00 and 14:00-16:00

We float gently over the landscape and no unpleasant wind blows against us. We fly as freely as the wind, without knowing the exact route and landing site beforehand. Every balloon flight is different - it's not about going as high or as far as possible, but about getting to know the beauty of our region from a new perspective.

Flight registration

Please contact us or your pilot for the first time approx. 14 days before the planned flight and make an appointment. Two days before the balloon flight, you can get a rough idea of whether the weather will cooperate and then agree on further details. If the demand is high or the weather has been bad for a long time or we receive postponements of reservations, we often have to reschedule the flights and find a new suitable date with you.

Facts:

• Duration: approx. 1 hour in the air and a total of approx. 4 hours (30 min launch preparation and subsequent loading of the equipment, return to the launch site and cozy get-together)
• Maximum number of people: 2-3 people or 240 kg (in addition to the pilot) per balloon - several balloons are available
• Please note that a balloon flight is highly dependent on the weather and the planned launch may have to be postponed!
