The Zederbauer winery in Palt is a certified organic family business that has been family-owned since 1854 and is now run with great dedication by Franz & Barbara. The "Zum 13er Haus" is the winery's wine tavern - a place where the combination of wine, hospitality and tradition is particularly tangible.
The wine tavern is only open several times a year - usually five times a year, when guests can enjoy homemade dishes and the family's own wines in a cozy atmosphere.The menu is smaller, but carefully selected: lots of regional dishes, hot dishes, but also typical Heurigen delicacies - all in keeping with the character of the winery.
The wines served at the wine tavern come from around 10 hectares of vineyards, which are increasingly being cultivated organically. The conversion has been underway since 2014 and the winery has been officially certified organic since 2017. Varieties such as Grüne Veltliner, Riesling and Pinot Blanc dominate the white wines; Zweigelt, Merlot and Pinot Noir are represented in the red wines.
The wine tavern is located in the 13er Haus at Wiener Straße 13, 3511 Palt. Guests can arrive from around 4 pm and enjoy the Heurigen time. In the summer months, the guest garden also offers visitors a particularly nice opportunity to end the day with wine and a good meal in pleasant surroundings. In 2016, the Zederbauer wine tavern was awarded the title of "TOP Heuriger" - an indication of how highly regarded the establishment is for its quality and hospitality.
