In the heart of the Wachau, between Weißenkirchen and Spitz, the Wagner family runs a traditional winery and wine tavern in Wösendorf. In a quiet location directly on the Danube cycle path, the winery combines authentic wine culture, personal hospitality and high-quality home-grown wines with an unadulterated view of the Danube and vineyards.
Viticulture with origin & signature
The Wagner family cultivates their vineyards in harmony with nature - on soils characterized by primary rock and loess. They produce classic Wachau grape varieties such as Grüne Veltliner, Riesling, Gelber Muskateller and Frühroter Veltliner. The wines are vinified under the Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus designation of origin in the Steinfeder®, Federspiel® and Smaragd® quality levels.
Wine tavern with heart and a view
The wines are served in a cozy atmosphere in the in-house wine tavern - accompanied by lovingly prepared, typical regional dishes. On offer are cold and warm Heurigen classics such as:
Wachauer Laberl with homemade spreads
bacon platters, cheese variations, Liptauer
meat dumplings, baked Blunzn, potato cheese
Seasonal dishes - e.g. wild garlic dishes or apricot cake
Guests enjoy their glass of wine in the rustic tasting room, in the newly designed winter garden with a view of the Danube or in the romantic courtyard in mild weather. The family atmosphere and direct contact with the winemaking family make every visit special.
All wines can be tasted and purchased directly at the winery - with personal advice from the winemaker on request. Group tastings or commented tastings with cellar tours are also possible by arrangement.
