SALOMON UNDHOF is one of the oldest private wineries in Austria and is synonymous with crystal-clear dry Rieslings and Grüne Veltliners. Well-known wines such as Ried Kögl, Ried Pfaffenberg, Wieden and Ried Wachtberg come from the best vineyards along the Danube. The vineyards are located in the easternmost part of the Wachau World Heritage Site, which is part of the Krems Valley ("Kremstal" in German) wine-growing region. White wines with fine minerality from the best terraced vineyards along the Danube have been produced here for 225 years. Bert Salomon's Rieslings and Grüne Veltliners are full of crystal-clear minerality. The wines for young drinkers are light and fragrant, while the great wines develop deep nuances and complexity as they mature in the bottle. SALOMON UNDHOF is a founding member of the association Traditionsweingueter Österreich.
The family
Gertrud and Bertold Salomon took over the winery in 2005 from Bertold's brother Erich, who had managed Salomon Undhof since 1971. Now they are delighted to pass on some of the responsibility to the next generation - Fanny Marie and Bert.
