Marktgemeinde Spitz

The well-known resort of Spitz lies on the left bank of the Danube in the heart of the Wachau. With its 50 km of marked hiking trails and its 2 km long, newly designed Danube riverside promenade, Spitz is the ideal starting point for hikes in the Wachau, the Waldviertel and the Dunkelsteinerwald - whether on the Welterbesteig Wachau - World Heritage Trail or on numerous other routes.

Cyclists can reach the town directly on the Danube cycle path - Spitz is also the destination of the southern Waldviertel cycle route.
