The traditional café-pastry shop is a must on any visit to Melk. Family-owned since 1885, it is located directly at the foot of the world-famous baroque abbey.
Guests enjoy café and pastries in a stylish ambience, from the mirrored room to the green tea room - and in summer they like to sit in the large garden right on the pedestrian zone and watch the vibrant life of Melk's old town.
The pastry shop's selection ranges from homemade pastries - such as Melker Torte, Melker Taler, Hauspraline, Babenberger Praline, Wachauer Torte, Marillenkuss - and refreshing ice cream specialties to a variety of coffees and a selection of special teas.
Many of the delicacies - lovingly packaged to suit the occasion - are also ideal as small gifts and souvenirs for friends and acquaintances.
