Description
Asbacher Klosterkeller - experience wine where history meets pleasure
The Stradinger family's Asbacher Klosterkeller in Stratzing combines wine culture, historical architecture and personal hospitality in a very special way. The original monastery cellar from the Middle Ages has been sensitively revitalized and now serves as an atmospheric venue for wine tastings, guided tours and events.
Wine cellar & tasting
A unique ambience awaits visitors in the historic vaults: The cellar was once built by the Zwettl Cistercian monastery and is now the heart of the house. Here, guests can taste the Stradinger family's own wines in atmospheric surroundings - from classic Grüne Veltliner to fruity Zweigelt.
Individual wine tours and tasting appointments are offered by prior arrangement - also in combination with small regional delicacies. Particularly popular are guided wine tastings with an insight into the history of the house, viticulture in Stratzing and the philosophy of the winegrowing family.
Wine experience & atmosphere
The Asbacher Klosterkeller is surrounded by its own vineyards in a quiet, panoramic location overlooking the Danube valley. The winery focuses on quality wines with a character of origin, which come from the vineyards around Stratzing, Senftenberg and the Krems Valley ("Kremstal" in German). Tradition and natural cultivation characterize the work in the vineyard and in the cellar.
Spend the night in the vineyard
If you want to stay longer after a tasting, you can spend the night in one of the two cozy double rooms or in the spacious vacation apartment directly on the farm. All units offer modern comfort, wonderful views and, on request, a lovingly prepared breakfast with regional products.
