Due to the extensive offer of public transport possibilities the region can be visited without a car. From Krems and Melk railway stations, both banks oft he Danube are connected by two bus routes, the south bank every two hours and the north bank every hour. For only € 12 the Day Ticket Wachau enables you to use the buses No. 715, 717, 718, 719, 720, 721, 722 and 723 between Melk and Krems as well as the three ferries (only for persons, fee for vehicles has to be paid in addition) to explore the Wachau Valley! Children until 15 years of age pay only € 6.

NÖ Card holders can obtain one free Wachau day ticket during the season (April-October) for free at the tourist information centers in Krems, Spitz, Emmersdorf and Melk during the opening hours.
