Our hotel is an insider tip in Krems! The history of our hotel dates back to 1658. Back then, Prince Metternich had the "Golden Angel" built as a tavern for Grafenegg Castle. In 1795 the accommodation business became our property. We, the Ehrenreich family, are now the 7th generation to run the "Goldener Engel". As much as we are aware of tradition, we are also open to new ideas. With a great deal of sensitivity, we have rebuilt our hotel to meet today's requirements. Our aim was to combine the social flair of the 17th century with the modern demands of our guests. The picturesque old town of Krems can be easily reached on foot, as it is only 200 meters away from our hotel. Our rooms are comfortably equipped with shower, WC, cable TV, radio and telephone. Our delicious breakfast buffet offers a wide range of delicacies to give you a good start to the day. After a strenuous excursion you can relax in our newly designed garden with a fantastic view of Göttweig Abbey or in our romantic rock garden. For our guests we offer a free pick-up service from Krems train station or from the Krems-Stein boat station. Our motto: "The greatest honor of our house is the return of our guests".
