In the old town of Dürnstein, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles form an incomparably romantic urban ensemble. From the banks of the Danube and the "Malerwinkel" - where landscape painters used to set up their easels - through the "Traunergassl", the path leads uphill to the courtyard and the church of the Augustinian canons' monastery, a unique Baroque jewel. Passing pretty town houses, the Prangerplatz square and the Kunigundenkirche church, the trail leads out through the Steiner Tor gate, from where you can hike into the Dürnsteiner Rieden vineyards and to Loiben.
