A special part of Austrian wine culture has lived in the city center of Krems an der Donau since 1452 - the Stadt Krems winery. This makes it one of the oldest existing wineries in the world. What is even more original is that the town not only houses the estate, but is also its sole owner. Team Weingut Stadt Krems, under the management of Fritz Miesbauer since 2003, is all about the Grüne Veltliner and Riesling varieties. The wines tell of the origin of the grapes, the character of the region and the individuality of the grape varieties. Authenticity is at the forefront, each wine has its own special taste. Fritz Miesbauer was named Winemaker of the Year 2020 by Falstaff!
TASTE KREMS
The wine cellar in Krems' Stadtgraben is more than 200 years old and has seen a lot. The winery is happy to open its doors to interested visitors and, in addition to tastings, also offers a look behind the scenes. The guided tour and tasting can be booked as "Taste Krems Basic" and as an extended "Taste Krems Masterclass".
