Weingut Rudolf Fritz

The Fritz family winery is located on the right bank of the Danube in the idyllic wine village of Thallern, a southern district of Krems. An area of 12 hectares is cultivated, with the main focus on Grüne Veltliner and Riesling.

The basis for quality lies in the vineyard: soil health, pest-friendly plant protection and a well-functioning ecosystem are the primary criteria for the sustainable use of our vineyards. Short pruning, targeted foliage work and strict yield control are essential in order to harvest grapes of high physiological ripeness. Only grapes from our own vineyards are harvested, which are picked several times during the harvest in order to bring only the best grapes to the press house. There, the grapes are gently juiced with a pneumatic wine press at minimum pressure and fermented in steel tanks until they come to a natural standstill.
